Civilize the mind, but make savage the body

🌟 Embracing Wisdom and Strength:. A reflection on my favourite quote

"Civilize the mind, but make savage the body." This powerful quote has resonated with me deeply, guiding my thoughts and actions in a profound way. So much so, that I have it tattooed on me as a constant reminder of its significance in my life.

To me, these words speak to the essence of balance and harmony in all aspects of life. They remind me that while it is essential to cultivate a refined and enlightened mind through education, culture, and self-improvement, it is equally important to nurture strength and resilience in the physical realm.

This notion of being skilled in both intellect and physical prowess is not about promoting violence or aggression, but rather about embodying a holistic approach to dealing with life's complexities.

I believe that true strength lies in the ability to defend oneself and others when necessary, while also striving for peace and harmony in all interactions.

As I carry these words with me every day, I am reminded to embrace the duality of human nature – the intellect and the physicality, the gentleness and the strength. By striving to harmonize these aspects within ourselves, we can better navigate the challenges of the world and contribute to a more balanced and peaceful existence.
